Kōji Takano - Creative Japanese Calligraphy Artist

Calligrapher. Contemporary Artist.
Born in Tokyo, after worked as a musician, actor and copywriter, he has started his artist career in 1999 on the streets of New York City.
He is active in a wide range of activities as calligraphy instructor; including exhibitions, lectures, events.
He developed a process to write kanji in indissoluble connection to the most profound emotions of the heart.
He performed for more than 40,000 people, using calligraphy improvisation techniques to convey the feelings and impressions of his guests.
He has also designed logos, labels, Japanese sake trademarks, product packages, children’s clothing, restaurants’ items.
Recently, he designed the team slogan for the J-League football club Ganba Osaka; he created the design title and he starred in the music video calligraphy scene of “Soredemo, ikiteiku” by singer EXILE ATSUSHI and pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii; and he published a book about calligraphy titled “Nagasarezu nagareteyuku”. Besides, 48 of his artworks are displayed at the world-renowned Park Hyatt Niseko HANAZONO Resort Hotel.
