【Activity description】
We will explore the fascinating world of shodō, the traditional Japanese calligraphy art with hundreds of years of history!Master of Shodō Kōji Takano will introduce you to a personal approach to calligraphy that consists in express yourself in a totally free artistic process, expanding your imagination and creativity.
At this experience you will be able to give life to a unique but typically Japanese work of art.
First, imagine the kanji (word) that you want to write and the scenery (picture) inspired by it. Don't worry, if you cannot decide you can refer to the collection of ideas by Takano sensei.
Once you have decided on an idea, use ink and paints to write it down on the Shikishi which is a special kind of Japanese card paper that is often used for painting, drawing, and autographs.
The instructor will guide you to transform your idea in something exclusive, and finally your masterpiece is completed.
Let enjoy the experience on shodō and make a perfect souvenir by yourself on your Japan trip!
